Price

Thrive Shake

Though Thrive Shake can be used as a stand-alone meal replacement shake, it’s designed by Le-Vel as part of an “8-week premium lifestyle system” designed to help you reach peak physical and mental levels. If you want the whole package, it includes two other products: a Thrive drink supplement and skin patch supporting weight loss, increased energy and healthy joint function. Packs include enough product to last you 4 weeks and range from $100-$140 for one person.

Just want the shake? Since Thrive is a multi-level marketing company and you have to buy directly from a distributor, they don’t have their prices per item on the website, however, you can find the shake for purchase in other places… Amazon sells 16 single servings of the shake for $65.00, which brings it to about $4.06 before shipping (which is pretty steep)!

310 Shake

310 is currently rated our #1 meal replacement shake – and one of the major reasons is because they’re extremely economical for everything they offer.

Each 310 Shake is $68.00 for a 28-serving bag (coming to $2.43 per shake serving). They also have a subscribe and save program where you can save 25% on your products by putting them on a regular monthly delivery schedule.

Finally, they have a deals page where they offer discounts on product bundles along with individual serving size packets of shake so you can try before you buy.

Bottom Line

Thrive Shake will cost $100 to $140 a month for the entire “Thrive experience” or a little over $4.00 per serving for just the shake – while 310 Shakes are $68.00 or less for almost a month-supply. You’ll spend roughly double the amount on Thrive as you would on 310!

Taste

Thrive Shake

Thrive Shakes come in four flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Apple Pie. Though they only have 2g of sugar, they contain an artificial sweetener (Sucralose) which gives it a super-sweet taste, according to Thrive Reviews. This shake has a mix of positive and negative reviews on overall taste/texture.

Some negative comments include that the shake: (1)

  • Lacks taste
  • Has a gritty texture
  • Is ultra-sweet

In positive Le-Vel Thrive reviews (mostly found on Le-Vel’s Facebook page), users noted: (2)

  • Add a tiny bit of vanilla extract and the shake tastes great (nothing like the pea protein that’s in it)!
  • It doesn’t have a grainy taste like other shakes
  • It tastes so good: like drinking melted vanilla ice cream for breakfast

Obviously, everyone has different opinions, but users seem to be split on whether or not this is a shake you’ll look forward to drinking every day.

310 Shakes

310 Shakes come in a variety of flavors including Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Toasted Coconut, Chocolate Mint, Vanilla Chai and Salted Caramel. Some of their flavors are called “Private Reserve”, and they’re only released in small batches for short time periods, giving users new flavors every season.

Overall, 310 Shake reviews were strong for both flavor and texture. Users seem to love the variety of flavors and the fact that the shakes keep them full and satisfy their taste buds.

Some 310 Shake Review users mentioned: (3)

  • All of the flavors taste excellent combined with almond milk
  • Texture is not gritty at all
  • It has just the right amount of sweetness
  • Can mix it with just about anything and it still tastes great
  • There’s no artificial taste like with other shakes

Nutrition Facts

Thrive

310 Shakes

310 Shakes Nutrition Facts Calories

Calories

The number of calories in each meal replacement shake is important, especially if you’re trying to lose or manage your weight. Shakes that are too high in calories can quickly skyrocket even higher when you add in other ingredients to make smoothies.

Ideally, you want your shake to be in the 100-calorie range, while still providing a balanced mix of protein, fat, fiber and vitamins/minerals. This will help you keep your overall calorie count for the day low – while still giving your body the nutrients it needs to feel your best.

While 310 Shakes have 90 calories per serving, Thrive Shakes have 110. These are both great numbers, since many other shake brands have calories in the high 200s and even 300s, making weight management more difficult.

Bottom line

Both shakes have around 100 calories per serving, making them great low-calorie shake options for both healthy living and weight loss.

Sugar / Artificial Sweeteners

Thrive Shake

Each Thrive Shake has only 2g of sugar per serving, which is awesome since sugar can quickly derail your weight loss efforts and clean-eating goals. However, there are some concerns about the types of sugars they use:

  • Maltodextrin: A highly-processed food additive (white powder) derived from corn, rice, potato starch or wheat. It has a high glycemic index, so can cause uncomfortable blood sugar spikes, and may cause GI issues such as cramping and bloating in some. (4)
  • Sucralose: An artificial sweetener best known as Splenda, is 600 times sweeter than regular table sugar, and some studies show that it might mess with your body’s satiety hormones – causing you to still feel hungry after eating. More research is also needed on any potential long-term health effects of these chemically-derived sweeteners. (5)
  • Stevia Leaf Extract: A healthy, natural sugar substitute derived from the leaves of the Stevia plant. Though Stevia is 100-200 times sweeter than regular sugar, studies show that it helps to stabilize blood sugar and insulin levels and does not lead to overeating after consumption. (6)

310 Shake

310 Shakes have NO sugar, which is quite amazing for a meal replacement shake. This makes it a prime option for those who are watching their sugar levels or following a low-carb or sugar-free diet. It also makes it ideal for balancing blood sugar levels and avoiding crashes throughout the day.

Having no sugar makes this one of the healthiest shake options available on the market – another reason it’s rated our #1 shake. Each 310 Shake contains natural Stevia Leaf extract (discussed in detail above).

Bottom Line

Thrive Shakes are low in sugar but contain a controversial additive and artificial sweetener, while 310 Shakes have no sugar/artificial ingredients. Both shakes contain natural sugar alternative, Stevia.

Protein

Thrive Shake

Thrive Shakes contain 15g of protein from soy, pea and whey. While the amount of protein is great to support optimal metabolism and satiety, we aren’t a fan of soy.

Pea protein is a highly-digestible protein that can dramatically increase fullness, and whey protein contains BCAAs (or branched chain amino acids) that help sculpt muscles – but soy protein has some potential downsides.

Soy is controversial since it’s: (7)

Estrogen-mimicking: Soy naturally contains properties called phytoestrogens that can boost estrogen levels in the body. Having excess estrogen is obviously not a good thing, and may increase your risk of certain diseases and hormone-imbalance disorders.

Mostly Genetically Modified (GMO): 90 percent of the soy used today is genetically modified, and GMO products can kill off beneficial bacteria in your gut. Your gut health is critical not only to your digestive and immune health, but also to your total body health.

310 Shake

These meal replacement shakes also have 15g of protein per serving, but they don’t include soy. 310 Nutrition uses a “Tri-Plex” blend of three different plant-based proteins (pea, brown rice and hemp). The company states that the blend includes the optimal amount of each protein to support increased absorption in the body and better results. (8)

Plant-based protein benefits:

Pea: Great for muscle-building since it’s a “complete protein” with all the essential amino acids your body needs. Easy on the digestion and very filling.

Brown Rice: Research shows it’s just as effective as whey for toning and slimming your body, plus increasing workout performance. Packs a ton of nutrients in each serving.

Hemp: Contains a hearty dose of fiber to balance blood sugar levels, promotes satiety, and is rich in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

Bottom Line

Both shakes contain an ideal 15g of protein per serving, but Thrive Shakes contain soy (a controversial protein with estrogen-mimicking abilities), while 310 Shakes contain a plant-based blend of pea, hemp and brown rice.

Fiber

Fiber is another vital ingredient in diet shakes, as it provides necessary digestive support and helps keep you full. Fiber is also what helps flush toxins from your body. Without enough fiber in your diet, you’ll feel pretty awful and likely suffer from some preventable issues like constipation, bloating or cramping.

Both Thrive Shakes and 310 Shakes contain 5g of fiber, which is an ideal amount for a diet shake. Optimal fiber is about 5-10g per serving. The inclusion of fiber will also help ensure you’re satisfied for a good 3-4 hours after your meal.

Bottom Line

Both 310 Shakes and Thrive Shakes contain a healthy amount of fiber at 5g per shake serving (per meal).

Carbs & Net Carbs

Though good, complex carbs in moderation are typically part of a healthy diet, going low-carb can help you drop pounds more quickly – and many have found that it’s also a great long-term weight management plan.

People on low-carb diets need to track their daily carbs and net carbs (found by subtracting the amount of fiber by the total amount of carbs), to stay within predetermined limits.

One of the most popular low-carb diets right now is called keto. To get into ketosis (where you burn fat for fuel), you need to eat less than 50g of carbs per day and less than 30g of net carbs.

Both 310 Shakes and Thrive Shakes qualify as low carb options that would fit into a keto diet plan – 310 being slightly better. 310 Shakes contain 7g of total carbs and 2g net carbs while Thrive Shakes contain 9g of total carbs and 4g net carbs.

Bottom Line

Both 310 Shakes and Thrive Shakes are low in carbs and net carbs, fitting into a keto diet plan (with 310 having slightly better numbers for both).

Vitamins / Minerals / Superfoods

Thrive Shake

Le-Vel Thrive shakes contain 19 essential vitamins and minerals, all at 20-50% of the daily recommended value, which is awesome. You want your meal replacement shake to contain all the nutrients you would normally get from a healthy meal, and this does the trick.

They also include a proprietary blend with natural caffeine from black tea, digestive enzymes and a probiotic for gut health.

310 Shake

310 Shakes are also impressive with 20 essential vitamins and minerals, most at 30% of the recommended daily value. In addition, they provide a super greens blend… which helps boost energy and digestion even more. The blend includes nutrient powerhouses like organic spinach, spirulina, broccoli and kale.

In addition, each shake also includes probiotics for overall digestive health and detox maintenance.

Bottom Line

Thrive Shakes and 310 Shakes both contain a valuable dose of vitamins and minerals in each serving. 310 Shakes also contain a super-greens blend, while both shakes provide probiotics for gut health.

Company/Brand

Thrive Shake

Le-Vel is a multi-level marketing company (MLM) – so the only way you can buy Thrive Shakes is through a local “seller”, or distributor in your area. This business model has both positives and negatives.

If you end up loving the product, becoming a promoter or seller of Thrive items can help you earn more money and get discounts on the items you’re already buying. However, if you wish to stay in the “buyers only circle”, sometimes dealing with MLM companies can be a little frustrating.

For instance, you may increasingly feel pressure to buy or to become a seller yourself. In addition, you aren’t free to get the products yourself… you always have to go through another person.

As for product offerings, in addition to their 8-week Thrive experience, Le-Vel also provides a number of different diet drinks and supplements designed to encourage weight loss and enhance health.

310 Shake

310 Nutrition is an e-commerce company (not an MLM) – so you can purchase products online from their website at your ease. If you would like help with your orders, they have 24-hour customer support via phone, email or online chat.

Along with the shakes, the company offers additional dietary supplements, detox products, healthy lifestyle drinks, gym gear and more to promote a healthy lifestyle and weight management.

Bottom Line

Le-Vel is a multi-level marketing company so you can only get Thrive Shakes through a local seller, while 310 is an e-commerce company (with 24/7 customer support), so you can easily get their shakes online.

Conclusion

Thrive or 310 Shake? Have you made your decision? Let’s lay out the facts…

While both of these shakes have impressive labels with good protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals (also being low in sugar and calories), 310 Shake had cleaner ingredients with no artificial sweeteners or soy protein.

Plus, 310 Shakes cost less and have better taste reviews – two critical aspects when it comes to sticking with a meal replacement program.

If you’re interested in eventually selling Thrive shakes, you can get discounts on the product if you become a seller yourself (since the company is an MLM), which isn’t for everyone.

At this point we think it’s clear why 310 Shake is our #1 rated weight loss shake – and it absolutely comes out on top in this diet shake comparison!
